ADJUSTABLE SPANNER: Describes either a crescent wrench or pipe wrench, with a fixed jaw and a movable jaw controlled by a spiral gear, to install or remove bolts and nuts of various sizes. The crescent spanner has smooth jaws, while a pipe wrench's jaws are serrated.

ALIGNING PUNCH: Describes a specialist tool in the shape of a thin rod used to ensure that holes line up exactly when assembling two or more components.

ADJUSTING SHIM: Describes a thin washer that reduces or increases the clearance between two components.

ADJUSTING SLEEVE: Describes a small cylinder that sits on the end of the tie rod, which shortens or lengthens the rod to make changes in the toe-in and toe-out function.

ANGLE-NOSE PLIERS: Describes specialist pliers fitted with long jaws bent at right angles to aid in gripping an item that is difficult to reach with regular pliers.

ANGLE SCREWDRIVER: Describes a specialist tool shaped like the letter L with a blade at either end.

BAR CLAMP: Describes a tool with a stationary head and a sliding foot used for clamping purposes.

BIT: Describes the tip of a screwdriver.

BIT ADAPTER: Describes the tool like a screwdriver with a hollow socket instead of the blade that accepts various bits.

BOSS: Describes an extension or strengthened section that holds the end of a pin or shaft.

BOX SPANNER:   Describes a hollow tube with a socket at each end and two holes through which a bar can be inserted to turn the wrench.

BOX WRENCH: Describes a tool designed to secure or remove a bolt or nut. Each end of the wrench fits around the bolt head or nut.

C-CLAMP: Describes a tool which is in the shape of the letter "C". A screw at one end of the clamp forces the end of the screw against the object to be secured.

CHAIN FILTER WRENCH: Describes a chain wrench which encircles the oil filter to assist in its removal.

CHIPPING HAMMER:  Describes a hammer used to remove the slag from weld seams.

COPPER-FACED HAMMER: Describes a type of hammer with a round head made of copper or brass liable to cause more minor damage than a steel hammer.

CRESCENT WRENCH: Describes a type of adjustable wrench with smooth jaws.
